I cannot find any reference to the event that was in the article. Removing following text:

Visit Deggendorf in late July when the Town Festival (Volkfest) takes place at the Festplatz. This is like a mini Oktober-fest with huge beer tents, but with virtually no tourists. Great opportunity to down a few litre-glasses of beer whilst dancing on the benches and singing your favourite German songs played by the local ompah-band.
