Hierarchy

edit

I'd like to see some commentary to make me see how this article could possibly jive with our geographical hierarchy. It is a single region article shared by several states but encompassing only part of each state, which seems to make this article sort of overlap, since clicking on a subregion from a state article takes you to a region article which is bigger than just that subregion. Under normal circumstances this would be broken up into Delaware Valley (Pennsylvania), Delaware Valley (Delaware), etc., and in that case this article would clearly be redundant/overlapping in that not-so-wikivoyage way. What to do? (WT-en) Texugo 03:51, 5 March 2008 (EST)

Not only that, but I just noticed that the Maryland and Delaware articles don't even link here, and New Jersey has its own separate Delaware River Region article which, again, doesn't even link here. How can we clean this up? (WT-en) Texugo 03:54, 5 March 2008 (EST)
This has the same problem Metro New York had until we finally turned it into an extra-region and started a separate Downstate New York article. The way to clean this up is exactly the same way: turn this article into an extra-region and create a Delaware Valley (Pennsylvania) article that's breadcrumbed to Philadelphia Region. (Or should that be Philadelphia region? If not, why not?) Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:32, 13 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
