Can't find address for Hotel Cascades, if anyone else knows it, could you pop it in? Thanks!
This page seems to contain an unwanted advertisement in poor English and with poor punctuation for the 'riad arabesque'.
PLEASE include some sort of contact info...
Can I put an advertisement for my travel booking agency? I posted a link but another user removed it, I see that many hotels have advertisements, what stays and what goes?

I removed one of the "Made in M:" advertisements as it seems to clearly be a self promotion and was added to a section where it doesnt belong.

Eat
editHi, I was editing the Eat section and now I've noticed that it has layed out in a single paragraph. My apologies for whatever I did, how can I fix it? Thanks ~~MarinaK.
- It was because you accidentally removed an </eat> tag from the L'Ambre listing—fixed. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 21:22, 28 October 2009 (EDT)
- Ooh, thanks for fixing Peter! MarinaK
Hustlers on trains
editI added a point about the dangers of being overly naive on train journeys into Fes. Personally (and entirely my fault), I came to wikivoyage and just looked at the travel advice. I was rather overconfident and didn't bother looking at the Stay Safe or Cope sections, particularly since I thought the train would be perfectly safe. Needless to say, I got 100% conned with a shop-based tour the following day. It was beautifully done, but a bit irritating. (WT-en) Kayman1uk 15:26, 30 October 2009 (EDT)
External links
editWe don't have "external links" sections, so I removed this from the article, as some links may be of use. - Texugo (talk) 12:32, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Status of Sahrij Madrasa
editI believe the Sahrij Madrasa, despite being recently restored, is still closed to visitors, judging by the few available online reviews. It may have been repurposed as student housing for the Quaraouyine University, according to some of the news I read, but it's not entirely clear if this means it's indefinitely closed to tourists. If anyone has tried to visit it recently, could you confirm here if it's open and/or update its entry if it's closed? Thanks, R Prazeres (talk) 00:54, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
- A belated follow-up on this: I visited Fez last summer and this madrasa was indeed closed to tourists for the reasons I mentioned above. I'll remove it from the list of things to "see", because unfortunately there's nothing a regular visitor can see there now. R Prazeres (talk) 22:11, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Can the exterior be seen, and is that worthwhile? Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:27, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Not really. Yes you can see the outside, but it's just a set of doors in what otherwise looks like a regular wall, with a bit of stucco decoration around it. I don't think it reasonably be recommended, and indeed it seems to have stopped being mentioned in many guidebooks. Likewise, there's another madrasa not listed here (the Saffarin Madrasa) which is of great historical interest but sadly not open to regular visitors. R Prazeres (talk) 01:55, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. Is that madrasa interesting to see from outside? Another point would be whether either madrasa offers short-term courses for visitors. If so, it can be listed in an optional "Learn" section. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:32, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- I believe the madrasa is being used as an annex of the Qarawiyyin University (don't take my exact word for it, but something like that). So I'm guessing it doesn't offer courses to others, and I haven't heard of that in my previous attempts to find out more.
- If you're curious: here's my rough photo of the external doorway in 2023 (and a comparison with its pre-restoration state in 2014, if you're even more curious). The street is narrow so it was hard to get a wider angle, but effectively this is all there is to see. If you didn't already know the madrasa was there, you would probably just take it for one of the many other ornate doorways in the medina. R Prazeres (talk) 01:18, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- That's quite pretty. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:06, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
