Talk:Franschhoek
Franschhoek is definitly not Afrikaans for "French Corner" it does mean french corner, but is not Afrikaans. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) 198.54.202.210 (talk • contribs)
- It sure sounds like Afrikaans. What language is it if it's not? --(WT-en) Evan 15:48, 1 July 2006 (EDT)
- Wikipedia says that it's Dutch, not Afrikaans. --(WT-en) Evan 15:51, 1 July 2006 (EDT)
- Considering that the name dates back to when Afrikaans was Dutch, that's a fairly picky distinction. :) - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 15:58, 1 July 2006 (EDT)
Closures
editRemoved from the main article, leaving it here for reference in case it reopens:
- <eat name="Bouillabaisse" alt="" address="" directions="" phone="" email="" fax="" hours="M,W-Sa 10AM-10PM, Su 10AM-5PM" price="" url="http://www.seafooddeli.co.za/">One of the latest additions, run by award-winning chef Camil Haas. This vibrant, trendy 'front-cooking' eatery serves freshly prepared favorites like bouillabaisse and gourmet seafood tasters. French champagne available. The open kitchen lets you watch the chef and his team at work, and be sample tasting portions. Bouillabaisse also sells fresh fish, caters, and has a deli shop. Note: Unfortunately Bouillabaisse has recently closed down.</eat>

Is everything "wonderful"?
editThis may be a great place, but "wonderful" is really overused in this article. I just detouted the "Sleep" section. I put some hidden comments in "Eat", which has a couple of very questionable assertions in it. I haven't had a chance to look through "Buy", but I'll bet it needs to be not only listified but detouted. Even in "Understand", what does "spectacular atmosphere" mean? Making the section slightly longer and being more specific might be more helpful to the traveller. Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:17, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
