We have few to choose from. --Saqib (talk) 02:16, 16 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Although the lower image gives a better idea of the lushness of some of this area, it is technically defective in that the lower 10% of the height (45% for small screen users) needs to provide a relatively dark and unobtrusive background for the (partial) table of contents (ToC) white lettering (in the default skin that most readers will see).
Of the remaining two upper images, I marginally prefer the first... --W. Frankemailtalk 16:38, 8 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

DMZ between 2 Kashmirs

edit

It's just illegal to cross this line, or not? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 07:30, 12 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

"DMZ" is an acronym for "De-Militarised Zone" and the junction of the forces of India and Pakistan is very highly militarised!
I don't know about the legality, but in most places you'll get shot/blown up if you attempt to cross the "line of control" between the opposing claimants. India has built hundreds of miles of electrified fences through Kashmir to stop militants from smuggling weapons and, although large-scale fighting has subsided over the years in Kashmir, exchanges of fire between Indian and Pakistani soldiers are still relatively common... --W. Frankemailtalk 16:08, 8 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Map problem

edit

At least on my display (Firefox on Linux, other WV maps look fine) the map in this article looks wrong. The Indian part of Kashmir is not coloured as it should be; instead it is the same colour as non-Kashmiri background regions. Pashley (talk) 23:24, 17 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
