Itineraries section

edit

Ilkirk, would you comment why you moved this line from Itineraries to Get Out?

Stay in Nafplion and drive in radial directions to ancient sightseeing, one destination a day.

It is not about leaving the region, but about one of the ways to explore it (what is called Itineraty here, AFAIU). Please let me know your reasons -- and thanks for templating the article. --(WT-en) DenisYurkin 03:04, 29 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Daytrips go in Get out (see Project:Where you can stick it). The plural "directions" above implies to me that this is a number of daytrips, all originating in Peloponnese rather than a single, multiday route. -- (WT-en) Colin 10:35, 29 Sep 2005 (EDT)
As I can see from Project:Where you can stick it, "sticking" it to GetOut makes sense only when you leave a place you describe (like go to towns around Athens -- which are BEYOND the city).
By 'ancient sightseeing' I meant ' Ancient Olympia, Epidarus, Mykene, Corinth, Mystra, Sparta' (please suggest how to make it more clear), which all are WITHIN Peloponnese region, not NEAR it. --(WT-en) DenisYurkin 11:08, 29 Sep 2005 (EDT)

Mobile counterpart

edit

Although here Nafplio is mentioned, on the mobile counterpart of this it is not shown, although with one of the most complete sites, although mentioned since a long time here. Why? - How old is http://m.en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Peloponnese? - How m.wikivoyage is created?? - Why does it copy the content of the original wikivoyage in a selective manner??? - How come towns that were included in a later stage(by me!) are mentioned?

Drink: anything specific to Peloponnese?

edit

Is there anything specific to Peloponnese in this?

Drink
All the classic Greek stuff. Ouzo will obviously feature heavily, as will the local wine (don't be put off by plastic bottles). For those of a hardier constitution, Metaxa (Greek brandy) can make a fine end to an evening.

I could understand if we place winery recommendations like Nemea (as recently reviewed by Wall Street Journal), but what's special about Ouzo and Metaxa?

You are right as long as local producers are not referenced, as Karonis Ouzo in Nafplio, Tentura in Patras, Tipota in Tripoli etc. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) 62.38.157.143 (talkcontribs)

In a meanwhile, I remove this part from the article. --(WT-en) DenisYurkin 10:07, 12 November 2006 (EST)

Tripoli

edit

The link to Tripoli is wrong. It directs to Tripoli of Lybia. —The preceding comment was added by 83.212.39.210‎ (talkcontribs)

9 "Cities", please!

edit

This is a region article for a large region that's subdivided into 7 smaller regions. Per 7+2, only nine cities should be listed in the "Cities" section of this article. We should decide which 9 are most important and remove all the others from that section of this article (presumably starting with every red link). So which 9 should remain?
