Talk:Public baths in Japan

Latest comment: 5 years ago by Ground Zero

Would this article make more sense as Bathing in Japan or Baths in Japan, dropping the "public" part of the name? We mention household tubs in the intro, but don't discuss it further, which seems a shame. You still have to follow the same etiquette and procedure in a residence as you would at a public bath: undress, clean yourself on a stool or in the shower first, and then soak in the tub. This would also apply at a ryokan if you have a private tub in your room. There are additional concerns to mention for a residential tub, such as leaving the hot water for the next person in the family, and how to operate those f&*#ing incomprehensible control panels that fill the tub. --Bigpeteb (talk) 18:54, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
