North Fork?
editI never thought Riverhead was on the North Fork. A map shows that it is either entirely or mostly not on a fork at all, but rather the easternmost community on Long Island that's not on a fork. User:MikeBertino90, a reply from you would be much appreciated. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:19, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- I wouldn’t normally think so either, but the North Fork articles both here and in Wikipedia, as well as having Mattituck and Aquebogue in the North Fork AVA under the Department of Agriculture.
- I would say that Riverhead itself (the hamlet) is definitely not on the North Fork, but parts of the town are. This is a nuanced understanding, but i wanted to maintain the Wiki’s prevailing logic that Riverhead comprises “the western half of Long Island’s North Fork”. - Mattituck and Aquebogue are clearly on the North Fork. Are they part of the Town of Riverhead? Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:55, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- Aquebogue is, Ikan. I apologize as I was mistaken as Mattituck is a part of Southold.
- I have included the map below from the town of Riverhead, showing Northville, Jamesport, Laurel, and Aquebogue within Riverhead.

- Additionally, the North Forker magazine considers Riverhead (including Jamesport and Aquebogue) on their maps and local businesses describe themselves as on the North Fork. Example. MikeBertino90 (talk) 15:59, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- It would be great if the boundaries of the town could be put on the map in the article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:25, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
- The map you linked clearly shows that about 1/4 of the town is on the North Fork. The rest is not. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:27, 8 February 2024 (UTC)
