Who looks after the Ypres Tower?

edit

Hello. At the moment we have this in the "Do" section: "Visit Ypres tower and have a chat with the elderly gentleman who has been keeping it open for visitors for the last 15 years."

It's been there since at least 2011 when the page was imported from WikiTravel, oops, no, I tell a lie, it's been there on Wikitravel since 27 September 2006. Erkkk.

I was there this week. It's lovely! There is certainly a nice, older chap who staffing the desk and looking very much in charge, but he describes himself as a newcomer of a few years' standing. So the person described in the article was not there when I visited and we don't know if he is still there or still around. If he was "elderly" twelve years ago he has probably not got much younger.

I am minded to remove it but there's no hurry - what do you think? Cheers DBaK (talk) 15:54, 3 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I would agree that the details of who is on the desk should be removed. I think that it would be better to replace this with a see listing for the tower, linking to the the castle museum page about the tower. A it is a separate location and entrance fee from the museum, it is fine to have it a separate listing, which should say something about the tower and the view from it.
