Guide status

edit

I have promoted this article to Guide status since, largely thanks to recent edits by Sky Harbor it now has different choices for accommodation and eating/drinking, and information on multiple attractions and things to do. Listings and layout now closely match the manual of style. It is not a "huge city article" so all district articles do not at least have to be at "usable" status. There are multiple ways to get in, some suggestions for moving out, and information on getting around.

One of the major things missing to make it a star is a map.

We also need detail in the new Connect section: Information on communications -- phone, Internet, other. This is where you'd list Internet cafes or computer rental centers for staying in touch by email or on the Web. If there are free or paid wireless Internet hotspots in the district, name them here. Long-distance telephone centers, where travelers can pay to make long-distance telephone calls, would be useful here, too. Maybe some stuff about buying local SIM cards, too. -- Alice 04:55, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Sky Harbor has now brought the Connect section up to scratch, so the major things still missing to make it a star is a map. -- Alice 04:30, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Unfortunately, maps are not my specialty. I wonder if someone from the Map Workshop over at the English Wikipedia would like to help us out with this. --Sky Harbor (talk) 05:02, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
That would seem like a good idea. User:Peterfitzgerald also has some expertise in making maps here at Wikivoyage. -- Alice 09:47, 22 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Destination of the month?

edit

This article was nominated but after some discussion the nomination was moved to the slush pile.

If anyone improves it significantly, perhaps consider another nomination. Pashley (talk) 01:25, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Boracay flights?

edit

Tagbilaran#By_plane claims there are flights from Boracay, which looks impossible since Boracay has no airport. Maybe seaplanes? But the only scheduled seaplane service in the country was Air Juan & they appear to have folded, see Talk:Lapu-Lapu#Air_Juan.

There are two airports near Boracay (Boracay#By_plane) but I cannot tell if either should be linked here? Pashley (talk) 11:21, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
