best time to arrive to Vatican Museums

> It is a common misconception that by arriving at the Vatican Museums early one can avoid waiting in line. In fact, the opposite is true. Lines are at their worst in the early hours and taper off by about 11:30AM or 12PM when often times one can simply walk right in. Having said that, since the Vatican museum closes early (4:30PM) and is huge, it is best to go in early.

In early March in 2008, we experienced just the opposite: at 8am queue for individuals was about a dozen people; by 12:30pm or 1pm it grew dramatically, turning around several corners of Vatican walls.

So what is true, actually?

Existence

Does this really need a separate article? I know we all love making country articles, but this strikes me as really pointless, since it's basically a subdivision of a single Rome district! I think the pointlessness of this article is pretty clear per the empty eat, drink, sleep sections (since those listings are across this mighty international border in the rest of the Vaticano neighborhood). We could keep the Vatican City links as is, but update them (and this page, after merging content) to redirect to the appropriate Rome district. There's already a Rome/Vaticano district and talk of merging the two on Talk:Rome/Vaticano. I'd be tempted to prefer just plain old "Vatican" as the name, because it's English & more common. (WT-en) Jpatokal 05:09, 12 April 2008 (EDT)

Please stop edit warring. As Wikivoyage works by consensus, it is inappropriate to simply assert your view and start making edits contrary to the existing consensus. This proposal was up for half a year here and at Talk:Rome. It's now implemented. If you disagree and would like this changed, it's incumbent upon you to make arguments for your case and persuade people here to move away from the existing consensus. --(WT-en) Peter ^Talk 14:09, 12 November 2008 (EST)
