Torres Strait Creole (Yumplatok) is the main language of Queensland's Torres Strait Islands. It is very similar to Tok Pisin (Papua New Guinea, Bislama (Vanuatu) and Solomon Islands Pidgin. It is an English-based creole language. The language is well spoken by around 30,000 people, and is used in day to day life.
