My real name is Michael. I live in South Yorkshire, a county in England.
Why did I get involved with WikiVoyage? edit
Frustration with printed guidebooks being out of date, or just plain wrong! My turning point was a well-known publisher's guide to Venice, Italy, which gave the location of a particularly good vegetarian restaurant. Annoyingly, the restaurant was nowhere near where the book said it was - and never has been!
As an IT consultant, my work often involves reading and writing project documents, and contributing to reference books. It's nice to write something a little more lighthearted once in a while.
