| Bondi Australia's prime city-beach destination, and one of the most expensive and affluent areas of not just Sydney, but Australia as a whole. Bondi has a great deal of beaches, suitable for both surfing and swimming, and there's plenty of fine-dining restaurants in Bondi. |

| La Perouse Where French explorer Jean-François de Galaup, comte de Lapérouse came in 1788, a week after Arthur Phillip did. Had the French arrived at this town a few weeks earlier, it could have very much been a French colony. Today, La Perouse houses a fort, a museum with La Perouse's recovered artifacts, and a national park. |
