Welcome
editHello Andromeda321! Welcome to Wikivoyage. Thanks for plunging forward so far. If you're going to continue working on Wikivoyage, you may find the tips for new contributors helpful.
You should also make sure you understand our copyleft and policies and guidelines. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted.
Thanks for your contributions within New Hampshire - I was born there, but moved away at too young of an age to remember much more than spending weekends at Lake Winnipesaukee and Sunapee Lake. Welcome again, and hopefully we'll see more contributions from you! -- (WT-en) Ryan 03:24, 24 Oct 2005 (EDT)
- Glad to hear you'll be sticking around, and I agree that New Hampshire can use some work, as can a lot of the site. Also, from your Wikipedia page it looks like we're both fellow Case alums, although it's been a while since I've been back there -- surfing in California definitely beats dealing with lake effect snow. -- (WT-en) Ryan 23:32, 24 Oct 2005 (EDT)
- One additional note, when uploading images you may want to explicitly note that the image is being licensed under the CC-SA license (as well as any other license you want to use). It's not strictly required, but in cases where there's any question of proper license the image will be deleted, so it's best to avoid ambiguity. -- (WT-en) Ryan 01:10, 25 Oct 2005 (EDT)
Travel topics
editSkiing would be a great travel topic. See Fields of pursuit for the current, very extensive list of two (2) topics. Apparently lots of editors of the site scuba dive, many fewer ski. I'm sure however that once something gets started that it will probably take off -- there have been a number of discussions about how best to handle ski resorts lately (see Talk:Colorado for one). -- (WT-en) Ryan 01:03, 25 Oct 2005 (EDT)
Image licensing
editThanks for adding the "Released under the CC-SA license" comment to your images. Sorry you got picked on here, as the image licensing policies can be kind of vague, and aren't always enforced except in the case of copyright violations. Anyhow, the images you've contributed are much appreciated, as is the work you've done to comply with our sometimes-difficult-to-understand policies. -- (WT-en) Ryan 16:23, 4 April 2006 (EDT)
- Seconded on all counts, particularly the "much appreciated" part, and thanks for rising to the bait I left on your WP userpage. It's great to have you back contributing, the more so since by doing so, you've identified a systematic issue that should (and, I believe, will) be addressed. -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill coming to you from a different computer than I usually use, hence "Anonymous user", but it's really me, I promise. :-) 128.165.144.60 16:48, 4 April 2006 (EDT)
