Hello and welcome to Wikivoyage. Please take a look at Welcome, business owners and Project:Don't tout.
Wikivoyage is not meant to be a yellow pages, nor an advertising brochure, so please do not add listings for your business that have flowery, promotional language or that lack any useful information, in particular price ranges for rooms. Also do not list your listing more than once, and do not list it in a city other than the one it actually is in. Lastly, please do not include the city, state, and zip code in the address field. While yes, this is good for your search engine optimization, this is straightforwardly inappropriate on Wikivoyage, since the article name should indicate what city it is in. Also, if you don't include the "http://" in the link to your website, the link will break, making this worthless.
Edits that do not follow these guidelines will be reverted. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 16:24, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
You don't follow instructions well, do you? The things Peter asked are not difficult. Please follow our guidelines. (WT-en) LtPowers 19:59, 25 August 2009 (EDT)
- Per our guidelines on hotel spam all of your edits have been reverted, again. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 16:29, 1 April 2010 (EDT)
- I've blocked you from editing for one day. Please leave a comment on this talk page once you have read the SEO policy, otherwise your edits will continue to be reverted and your account will likely be blocked again. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 17:02, 6 April 2010 (EDT)
- I've removed all of your listings (again) and will continue to do so as they are not in compliance with our SEO policies. At this point, until you respond and indicate that you have read and will abide by our policies I'm no longer going to even review your listings for correctness, and will remove anything from this IP address on sight. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 10:56, 14 April 2010 (EDT)
- I've blocked you again for two hours to avoid wasting more of your (and our) time. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 11:00, 14 April 2010 (EDT)
Ameri-star Casinos
editWe actually want you to add your casinos, but you need to follow this policy: Project:Don't tout. Leave out the promotional prose, stop adding multiple listings per page, and we'll be good. Otherwise, though, I intend to simply revert your edits. --`(WT-en) Peter Talk
Marriot Listings
editI can only re-iterate what has been stated above. Your flowery listings are no help to anybody and they are being reverted as per Wikivoyage's don't tout policies. You are wasting our and your time unless you heed the advice given above. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 10:54, 3 December 2009 (EST)
- You are here again I see and have learned nothing nor taken a blind bit of notice of the trouble we have taken to point out the way you should place listings at Wiktravel. I am fed up of doing your job for you and will now revert the Norfolk (Virginia) listing (for example).--(WT-en) Burmesedays 10:47, 19 January 2010 (EST)
- Hi! You are back and we have a new policy to combat marketers like you. See SEO (WT-en) jan 09:15, 25 May 2010 (EDT)
Your listings are still not in compliance with our hotel marketing policies and are being removed as fast as you add them. Once again, please read those guidelines, and then add a note to this talk page so that we know you have read our policies, otherwise all edits from this IP address are likely to be reverted on sight. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 13:06, 27 May 2010 (EDT)
- In the interest of not wasting any more time I've blocked you from editing for one hour. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 13:16, 27 May 2010 (EDT)
- Since you appear to have simply waited an hour and then returned to make exactly the same edits I've blocked you for a day. If you leave a message on this talk page indicating that you've read the aforementioned guidelines then the block can be lifted. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 14:55, 27 May 2010 (EDT)
- Please stop editing and respond to the messages on this page with a note indicating you have read and understand our hotel marketing guidelines, otherwise your edits will likely continue to be reverted. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 11:25, 2 August 2010 (EDT)
- I've blocked you (again) for two hours. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 13:28, 6 October 2010 (EDT)
