Wikivoyage talk:How to add travel news
On the Travel news page most entries are not using the template as indicated in these intructions. But the template creates a [more..] link which links to the Travel News page. This doesn't make sense on the Travel news itself page (only on the Main Page or other pages referencing the travel news page.
Is it correct to use the template on the Travel news page, where it results in a pointless link to itself?
hmmm maybe I didn't explain that very well. But basically I think maybe the instructions need to be changed. -- (WT-en) Nojer2 10:16, 19 Dec 2005 (EST)
- Most entries on Travel news predate the (rather new) template. And yes, the more link is rather pointless outside the front page, but there's no easy way to not make it appear and it doesn't really hurt. (WT-en) Jpatokal 10:22, 19 Dec 2005 (EST)
Edit news on main page does no longer work
editThe link in this line
- Edit the Main Page's Travel News section by clicking here. The content will look like this:
in the section "Adding news to main page" does no longer work, because in the new style there aren't sections any more. Is there a simpler way to edit the news rather than editing the whole page? My idea would be to create an extra page and include it like a template. Would that work? --(WT-en) Flip666 14:37, 2 January 2007 (EST)
Capitalize News Headlines
editNews headlines are always capitalized and I always capitalize them when someone adds one that does not have capitalization. I don't see why we should not capitalize news headlines, so I think we should change the "how to" to state that headlines should read like headlines and use capitalization.
