Wootton Bridge
Wootton Bridge lies on the northeast coast of the Isle of Wight, and is situated almost midway between the island’s historical capital of Newport and the Victorian gateway of Ryde.

editThe village itself lies at the head of the tidal Wootton Creek and over the last 100 years it has grown from a tiny hamlet of 70 people to almost 4,000. The area is surrounded by several areas of special scientific interest in which a wide variety of wildlife can be seen.
In 1969, the village was home to the first major Isle of Wight pop concert; around 150,000 people came to see Bob Dylan.

editWootton Bridge is near the Wightlink ferry terminal at Fishbourne. Ferries depart from Portsmouth to Fishbourne.
By bus
editWootton Bridge lies on Southern Vectis services 4 and 9. Both services connect Wootton Bridge to Ryde: there are seven buses every hour and the journey takes 15 minutes. Service 9 continues to Newport (every 10 min, takes 23 min), while service 4 provides an hourly service to East Cowes taking 13 minutes. All of these services cost £3.50 each way for journeys to Ryde, East Cowes, or Newport; shorter journeys can be cheaper.
By heritage railway
editThe terminus of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway is just outside Wootton Bridge. This runs on most days in the summer and selected days in spring and autumn. The heritage railway connects with regular Island Line trains at Smallbrook Junction.
