Yabe

Not to be confused with Yabe, Fukuoka.

Yabe (矢部) is in Kumamoto prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Japan. Now part of Yamato (山都) Town.

Tsūjunkyō

Yabe is known for its 48 waterfalls and 17 stone bridges.

• 1 Tsūjunkyō (通潤橋). The biggest of the stone bridges, built by Nunoda in 1854.

The most famous festival is Hassaku Festival (八朔祭). 

Drink

Yabe is known for its eponymous Yabe tea (矢部茶 Yabe-cha).
