Yendi is the biggest village in West Africa which has slowly transformed into a cosmopolitan town and the capital of Yendi Municipal district in the Northern Region of Ghana. As of 2021, the population of Yendi was about 118,000 people. It is the seat of the King of the Dagombas kingdom.

editYendi is located in the eastern corridor of Dagbon which serves as the home of the Dagbon paramontcy as it is in the town's appellation: the home of great visitors. It is 91 km (57 miles) from the Tamale, the northern regional capital. It is also 433 km from Accra, the capital city of Ghana.
Get in
editPublic bus from Accra or Kumasi or Tamale offer cheap and safer transportation than the maniac private bus drivers. It takes 13 hours from Accra, 10 hours from Kumasi but 45 minutes from Tamale.
Private car from any medium-sized town with driver is only about some few cedis.
Taxi also plough the road but comes with different colours depending on the station in which you boarded.
Motor cycle can also serve as a means of transport to the place.

- Yellow-Yellow: It's a tricycle with spacious air seats that can take you to your destination.
- Taxi: Red and yellow branded saloon cars used for public and private transport.
- Motorking: It's a tricycle with bucket at the back that can be used in loading goods but can be used to onboard passengers even though it is very risky.
