To avoid any copyright issues with the images that you have recently uploaded please check the image copyright information is included on the image information page for:

• Image:Plaza_de_Espa%C3%B1a_Seville.jpg
• Image:Old_Cathedral_Salamanca.jpg
• Image:Tampere.jpg

A simple statement like Taken by User:(WT-en) Sjc196 is probably enough to assure that you have the copyright on the photographs. Please note that images without copyright information could be deleted without notice. --(WT-en) Huttite 05:44, 2 Apr 2004 (EST)

Copyright info

Hey, so, could you please post copyright info on the image pages for images you upload? Just a quick note like "I took this photo" or "republished with permission". We just need to know that the images are free to use; sometimes people upload pictures they find on the Web, without making sure it's OK to include them in Wikivoyage. OK - I have included a comment with the Tampere photo, as I remember the site mentioning "these images are free to be reproduced" or words to that effect, but I have removed the photos of Seville and Salamanca as I am not 100% sure about them. I will check them before putting them back on their pages. Glad you like the work so far - I have travelled to various places in Europe (either on holidays or for Taekwon-Do competitions), so I will be starting/updating a number of pages over the coming weeks and months! --(WT-en) sjc196 13:30, 5 Apr 2004 (GMT)

(region)

I notice you have been adding (region) to the end of some place names in Italy. You do not need to do this unless the (region) also has a (city) with the same name. Please have a look at the article_naming_conventions hierarchy. Basically if there is only one place with the name use the name on its own. This saves typing with unique names. It also means that other contributors can link to your articles easily as they do not need to put (region) after the place names. There is also a risk that someone else will write a duplicate article if they do not put the (region) in.

It is only if there are two or more places that share the same name that you should need to use a (disamiguator). If you do have 2 articles with the same name, please also consider making a Disambiguation page.

Titles, Other destinations

So, you are doing a great job so far. It's been a pleasure watching you work. I have a couple of tips you might want to be aware of, though:

1. You might want to make sure you grok the article naming conventions. We use the most common English name for article titles, not the name in the local language.
2. "Other destinations" is for stuff that doesn't really fit into the "Regions" or "Cities", like, say, national parks.

Edit to Berkshire

Noticed your edit to Berkshire to put it into the standard region template which certainly needed doing. However I also noticed that in the process you removed the text indicating that the places under Cities are not cities by UK usage although they probably would be in the US usage which the MoS uses. It seems to me that comment was useful, if only to help the traveller avoid the derision she may meet if she talks about (eg) the city of Streatley to the wrong local. I don't know if the removal was deliberate; if it was perhaps you could share your reasoning on Talk:Berkshire. Thanks. -- (WT-en) chris_j_wood 01:18, 17 May 2004 (EDT)
