Majority of the dwellers are of Ijaw ethnic group with the Ijaw language spoken mostly in the area. Christianity and traditional are the commonly practised religions in Bomadi.
Bomadi is home to a number of farmers that cultivate cassava, oil palm, yam, maize. Fishing, and mining of crude oil are also important activities that contribute immensely to the economy.
