editThe city, together with today's Hungarian neighboring city Komárom, formed a quite important center, especially due to the large barracks. Today the city is the most important center of the Hungarian minority, and its German-speaking roots have not been forgotten, so many signs are in three languages.

editKomárno is connected to the neighboring town of Komárom on the Hungarian side of the Danube by a bridge. Car, bicycle and pedestrian traffic is permitted.

edit- 1 Europe Square (Nádvorie európy). The main attraction. It is a square where there are 50 houses, each of which represents a European country. The houses are designed in a style that suits the country.
- 2 Mighty fortifications. With forts, bastions and citadels that protected the Danube port of Komorn (German name for the twin towns of Komárno/Komarom) at the mouth of the Waag river in the Danube. These were created in the Renaissance period and most of them are still there. Some of these facilities are located on the Hungarian side in Komárom and are also open to tourism.
- 3 Castra Celemantia. Roman fort built against the Turks
- 4 Star observatory in Hurbanovo.
- 5 Water mills on the Little Danube river. They are in Jelka, Jahodná, Kolárovo and others.

- 7 The Zichy Palace, 9 Klapku György Square,. Holds part of Danube museum
- 8 Parisian swamp. The largest reed swamp in Slovakia, a protected area, artificially created around 1800, with many animal species to be seen.
- 9 Mária Valéria Bridge. Bridge first put into service in 1895, it was destroyed in 1919 and 1944. It was only rebuilt and returned to service in 2001.
- 10 Elisabeth Bridge. Bridge crossing the danube river named after Empress Elisabeth of Austria free.

- 2 Park in Svätý Peter. An urban park.
- 3 Vadaš Thermal Resort, in the village of Štúrovo. Indoor swimming pool open all year round, outdoor pools from May to September. – Indoor and outdoor swimming pool, slides. The complex is the city's main tourist attraction.
