La Prairie is served by highways 15 and 30 (Steel Highway), as well as roads 104 (linking La Prairie and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu), 132 (along the east bank of the river), 134 (boulevard Taschereau) and 207. Highway 30 runs along the east side of La Prairie. Along the St. Lawrence River on the west side of town, Autoroutes 15 and 20 overlap Route 132; 15 to the south and 20 to the north.

  • Vieux-La Prairie: this heritage area with the Catholic Church of La Nativité de la Vierge-Marie, the Parc Sentier du Vieux Fort, the premises of the La Prairie-de-la-Magdeleine Historical Society (SHLM), several typical restaurants, Place de la Boulangerie, Parc du Rempart, Place du Centenaire, Parc Place de la Mennais, Parc Pierre-Raffeix, Parc La Citière and the magnificent Lac La Citière.
  • 1 La Prairie-de-la-Magdeleine Historical Society (SHLM) (Société d'histoire de La Prairie-de-la-Magdeleine), 249 rue Sainte-Marie, +1 450-659-1393. Established in 1972, the La Prairie-de-la-Magdeleine Historical Society aims to preserve the distinctive historical character of Old La Prairie. His efforts led in 1975 to the creation of the historic district of Old La Prairie. This museum offers a program of activities which is posted on the website.
  • 2 Roussillon Archaeology Museum (Musée archéologie de Roussillon), 214, rue Saint-Ignace. In 2022, the museum presents an Archaeology and Criminal Investigations exhibition. This exhibition informs visitors about the exciting work of bioarchaeologists in the investigation of ancient crimes. In addition, the museum presents a permanent exhibition through 5000 years of history of the region. The museum regularly presents various other thematic exhibitions.
  • 3 Bassin-de-La Prairie Park (Parc du Bassin-de-La Prairie) (accessible by an exit from Route 132 West, up to Rue du Quai), +1 450-444-6700. Park along the South Shore Canal of the St. Lawrence Seaway. This park is connected to the riverside bike path and includes a small peninsula. In the summer season, this park is very popular with water sports enthusiasts.
  • The South Shore Canal of the St. Lawrence Seaway offers water activities: water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, boating, etc.; this area allows you to admire Laprairie Bay, the Samuel-de-Champlain Bridge, and the city of Montreal;
  • 1 Canyon Escalade, 1775, chemin de Saint-Jean, +1 514-666-2269. This centre specializing in rock climbing offers day camps. It offers two types of indoor climbing: route and bouldering, with several levels of difficulty. Experienced climbers can obtain accreditation. Team Canyon, made up of experienced climbers between the ages of 10 and 19, who participate in competitions.
  • 2 Cascades Golf, 525, chemin de Saint-Jean (Site located near Taschereau Boulevard), +1 450-444-4350. 18-hole mini-golf course set on a wooded hill, surrounded by lakes, streams and waterfalls. The site also has a playground for children, a terrace with tables and an ice cream parlour.
  • 3 La Prairie Sports Centre (Centre Sportif de La Prairie), 555, rue Notre-Dame, +1 450-444-9005, . Inaugurated in 1966 under the name of L'Olympia, this sports centre offers hockey throughout the year. This center also offers a free skating schedule.
  • 4 Jean de la Mennais sports complex (Complexe sportif Jean de la Mennais), 870, chemin de Saint-Jean (Complex located in the Collège Jean de la Mennais.), +1 450-444-7235. This sports complex offers a variety of activities: athletics, recreational badminton (10 years and over), free badminton, children's basketball, cheerleading, jumping and throwing lessons, dancing, climbing, gymnastics, recreational apparatus, laido, karate, kobudo, mini-league, volleyball 9 to 12 years old, tennis, table tennis, zumba and yoga.
  • 5 L'express Golf Club (Club de Golf L'express), 1295, rang Saint-Raphael, +1 514-659-0283, . The L'Express Golf Club is the largest practice complex in Canada. This course has 11 holes par 3&4 with par 35. The Mulligan Golf Academy offers training to play golf. The club welcomes groups and events.
  • 6 Marsh Conservation Park (Parc de conservation du Marais). This natural area of 87.7 hectares has a varied flora and is home to a diverse fauna. Among the rare species, the park is home to the chorus frog, a tiny frog protected by law. Free.
  • Multifunctional trail (Sentier multifonctionnel). This multifunctional trail stretches over 10.4 km. It crosses the Marais conservation park. Trail enthusiasts can go hiking, biking, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. This route allows you to stop at a heated shelter in winter at Lucie-F.-Roussel and L'Arrondissement parks.
  • Cycle paths (Pistes cyclables). The Route verte (section 3). These two trails offer a breathtaking view of the river and Montreal. They stretch over 50 km and have no elevation changes. La Riveraine runs between the river and Route 130, between Sainte-Catherine and Varennes. The Seaway dike offers a trail stretching over more than 14 km, between Sainte-CatheThe main bike paths in Laprairie are the Seaway dike and the La Riveraine bike path, which is a segment of trine and Île Notre-Dame.
  • Cross-country skiing (Ski de fond). La Prairie offers a trail of more than 10 km in nature near the city. This arena has ice with the same dimensions required by the National Hockey League, 500 individual seats, premises for sports organizations, a reception hall, rooms available for rental.

This course (by bike, scooter, skateboard or inline skates) has a succession of bumps and bends, making it easier to pick up speed, ideally without pedalling. This course is for participants of varying physical abilities. Safety mask is required. Motorized vehicles are prohibited.
