By car

The main access to the beach is via Indialantic, where US-192 enters from Melbourne and goes east across the barrier island. Turn south on FL-A1A and it leads to the junction of Oak St and Ocean Ave in Melbourne Beach. Atlantic St continues from Ocean Ave south along the beachside area from Melbourne Beach. The town can also be reached along the FL-A1A from the south, coming north from Sebastian Inlet State Park.

  • Space Coast Area Transit is the name of the local Brevard County bus service. It is a cheap way to get around and is handicap accessible. The website provides maps and timetables. Buses travel to most sites and places of interest. $1.25 per ride, or $35 for a monthly pass.

You can go fishing at the beach, the Indian River Lagoon at Honest John's Fishing Camp or charter a boat. Honest John's Fishing Camp also provides opportunities to kayak or canoe. The Florida Birding Trail offers a number of sites in Brevard County.
