Pagebanner
editThere's a good pagebanner at fr:Albi. How do I copy it to here? Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:55, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
- I did it, but just for the record, copy the second parameter (which shows the file name, but without the file: prefix), after the "pagebanner" part (or, in case of French, Bannière page), and done. I also activated the unesco parameter. Vidimian (talk) 13:12, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'm still not sure I understand how to copy it, though. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:51, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
- A banner template basically consists of two parts: "pagebanner" + the file name of the picture that you want to use as a banner; in its simplest form, it should look like this: {{pagebanner|the name of the picture}}. In case of Albi, the name of the picture that we'd like to use as a banner is File:Albi banner.jpg, so I replaced Pagebanner default.jpg (which shows the medievaly black and white map, which is the default banner) with it in the template, but dropped the File: part in the beginning so the banner displays properly. Please check out my edit to this effect here (I added the |unesco=yes bit in the end, so that the small UNESCO symbol shows up on the upper right corner of the banner, which signifies that the article is about a place that is on the UNESCO World Heritage list).
- Template:Pagebanner provides more details on this.
- Hope this helps (and I don't overexplain)!

- Yes, I understood that. Thanks a lot.
