Redirect?

Alton is likely a valid travel destination (it seems to have hotels), but if no-one is willing to put work into filling it out then I propose we redirect to another Hampshire town for the time being.

I'm not sure there's much point putting in a redirect to another town. It's a fairly isolated (by SE England standards, at least) market town that doesn't naturally go with anywhere else. If there was actually some content, I might agree with you, since there isn't perhaps a redirect to the main Hampshire article would be best for now, since there are already some Alton attractions on there (the Watercress Line, Jane Austen's House, the Gilbert White Museum).

More generally, it is a (long-term and slow-moving) project of mine to improve all the articles relating to our county, so I might be able to at least get some basic content on Alton in this week. --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 12:54, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure I agree that it should be at a Hampshire level. Most people visiting the Watercress Line will do so from Alton. It's closest to London, and is the only station with a National Rail interchange. Hold off on the redirect; if I or someone else haven't added more listings within a week or so, then it would be a good idea.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 20:44, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Alton

I must say, this is a place that I would love to visit. I added another hotel to the hotel section to make this article even better.
