Question - Palo de Mayo Festival on Corn Islands

I am writing in the hopes that someone may be able to help me solve a mystery about the authorship of an historical document I found online.

The historical document is a scanned copy of a brief, and rather amateurish history of the Corn Islands. The article can be found at: http://www.bigcorn.com/historical_document/index.html

Page six of this article gives a clue as to who the author was. The clue comes in the context of the author's description of the "Maypole Festival" on Corn Islands. Among the longer text, the author writes:

"It was opened by [the President of Nicaragua] this year, with myself having the honour to be his partner. Probably it was the first time in history, that the British Ambassador and his wife have taken part."

Does anyone know -- or is able to find out -- what year the President of Nicaragua "opened" the Palo de Mayo celebration, while the British Ambassador (and his wife) "took part"?

Merge with Little Corn Island?

The two articles seem quite similar, and merging would allow links to "The Corn Islands" which is how they often seem to be grouped. I may be wrong though; interested in hearing from someone who knows the places and WikiVoyage conventions better. --Thomas Craven (talk) 14:23, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

I have been to both islands and they are notably different in many ways. Little Corn for instance has not a single ATM which is of relevance to visitors Hobbitschuster (talk) 22:34, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

http://rightsideguide.com/how-to-get-from-managua-to-the-corn-islands/ is clearly in violation of the policy, so the question is, is the link so useful we should make an exception for it? I know the "corporate design" of Nicaraguan government websites (look at the banner of this page to get an idea what I am talking about). And this is not it. So no, this is not an "official" website.
