the way the Moravian Church is described

edit

Is it just my secularist toe being stubbed or is the section about the church that in German bears the name of this place a wee bit too celebratory? Hobbitschuster (talk) 20:38, 4 December 2015 (UTC) Hobbitschuster (talk) 20:38, 4 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Which part is bugging you? Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:42, 4 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Especially the way their missionary activity is described as the best thing to happen to those converted since sliced bread... Furthermore the whole guide dwells too much on things of little relevance for travel; e.g. the neighborhoods and their names - in a place of barely 8 000 people Hobbitschuster (talk) 10:49, 5 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
I was looking at the listings for the Moravian Church and such, and now I see that the issue is in "Understand". I definitely see your point. This is quite objectionable: "Such efforts led to many positive social benefits for numerous indigenous communities on all continents, in areas like health, education, improvement in the status of women, respect for the weak and sick replacing pagan disdain, and so on." I will edit the section. Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:15, 5 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
I edited out the parts of "Understand" that seemed most objectionable or just plain preachy. See what you think and edit more if you see the need. Are there other sections that are problematic to you? Ikan Kekek (talk) 14:18, 5 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
The Get In section is a mess (the least of which is the link format) but I don't feel like weeding through it right now as I lack my glasses... Hobbitschuster (talk) 11:43, 9 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
