I propose merging this entry into Carnarvon. Stroppy secessionist farmers have an important cultural history - that's how Switzerland got started - but this one's simply a "See" visitor attraction not a destination in its own right. Views? Grahamsands (talk) 13:26, 22 November 2017 (UTC)

On 5 Dec I did so merge and redirect it, but Andrecarrotflower reverted as it passes the "sleep test".

I'd say, umm yes but only just. There's a field you can camp in. There's parking for RVs & caravans and an ablutions block, but no power hook-ups. And that's it.

A related test perhaps is "mifba". Is it "Miles From Bloody Anywhere" so that perforce you have to stay over, and it starts to take on the nature of a destination? Not in this example. It's an hour's drive from Gero and similar from Kalbarri NP, just off the main coastal highway. You'd stay at one or t'other, and HRP is just a stop-off.

Sleeping apart, is it a substantial destination, as Gero & Kalbarri clearly are? Not for travel purposes, a couple of paragraphs suffice to describe. Yes if you're a sociologist or tax lawyer, wanting to delve into its weird status, but then the place to look is Wikipedia, which catalogues its history and personalities.

Should its claimed autonomy be a factor here? How would it be different if it was just a farm with costume pageantry, Days of the Gold Rush or whatever?

Views? And I'll put a "Hey Rube" into the pub in case others want to weigh in.

The listing on Geraldton is actually longer than this whole article, and that content could really do with being here. Since the 'principality' is a whole 100 km away from Geraldton, it shouldn't be a see listing in that town, even by the standards of a massive country with low population density like Australia (de jure). The "miles from bloody anywhere" test that you propose would justify this having an article; I imagine you can also camp here using a tent, right?

I would tend to think that the principality should be briefly listed as a 'Go next' item on Geraldton, and the rest of that listing's content should be moved to this article. Does that sound sensible? --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 17:59, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Merge to Mid West (Western Australia)?

There was a discussion on this article by Grahamsands and ThunderingTyphoons! four years ago, although it didn't receive much attention hence nothing was done. But rural localities don't get their own articles, and what was likely the reason of why this area got an article was because it was a micronation. But apparently at the start of last year, according to Wikipedia, The principality was a regional tourist attraction until it announced it was closed to tourists after 31 January 2020, meaning there's nothing to see or do anymore. While Grahamsands proposed to merge this to Geraldton which doesn't seem too far (it's 100km which is far from a European perspective, but that's nowhere near far when it comes to an Outback perspective), but I think this could get its own little section in the see section.
