Regency or city?
editThis is a bottom-level article, so should it be about Kebumen City, rather than the entire regency? Why or why not? Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:09, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- And what it certainly shouldn't be is a long copy of the Bandung article. Traveler100, thanks for removing that copypasta. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:17, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- It should be regency. Both regency and city in Indonesia are at the same level, directly above districts and below province. --Rupert.kidright (talk) 06:35, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input. New comments are always put at the bottom of the page in Wikis. You haven't yet explained why this article should cover the regency instead of the city. Typically, Wikivoyage destination articles are about cities. Why should this one be about a regency? Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:19, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for your correction about comment section. I think, I got your point. For Kebumen case, I think, there is no substantial different between regency or city. I mean that when people (local Kebumen people to non local) refer to Kebumen, it always refers to Kebumen regency. If people visit Kebumen, the destination scope usually is the same as regency. So, previous comment is related to formal administration style in Indonesia. But if Kebumen is described as city, it is also okay. Hope this help. --Rupert.kidright (talk) 09:45, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
- Actually, the way people think locally should rule the day, all things being equal. Some version of what you just posted should be in "Understand". Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:26, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
- Perhaps the test here is whether it would work (for travellers) to split Kebumen (the city) and Kebumen (the regency). Although there is a lot of information, I don't think either of them would work independently, because most of the eating and sleeping options are in the city and most of the see and do are in the regency (i.e. day trips from the city). To have separate articles would mean a lot of cross-referencing between the two. I think keeping a single Kebumen entry will work best. Tawonmadu (talk) 03:20, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Thanks for explaining. Ikan Kekek (talk) 17:21, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
