Bus routes?

edit

Some locations with length of travel and prices could be useful...

Photo sizes?

edit

Currently, photos are tagged with half a dozen different explicit widths, from 170px to 350px. I would just remove all the width tags, and definitely not replace them with relative width tags. What do others think? Pashley (talk) 14:20, 11 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Done. --Danapit (talk) 08:45, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Page banner

edit

#1: Stone forest

#2: Yuantong Temple

#3: Yuantong Temple

This might be a nice banner, but I believe it is not directly in the city... Danapit (talk) 08:39, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

The picture of the ornament on Yuantong Temple might be nice, but I don't know if the sign doesn't mean anything funny and also the right side is out of focus. --Danapit (talk) 12:51, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
What about the third one? It's a bit overstuffed, isn't it? --Danapit (talk) 13:13, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but I like it. Much of China is "a bit overstuffed" & it gives that feeling. Pashley (talk) 13:22, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Very good, we have a banner then! --Danapit (talk) 14:19, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Ah, and I even found a use for the #1 banner. Wouldn't Shilin Stone forest be something to "Do" rather than "See" if it requres to take an excursion from the town? And also because it has a separate article, maybe the listing can be shortened and information moved to the relevant article? --Danapit (talk) 15:00, 12 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Karst Topography

edit

What does the header Karst Topography belong to? The following paragraph? It is slightly puzzling. --Danapit (talk) 07:29, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

wikitravel description on Dianchi lake is unrealistic

edit

Our previous description on Dianchi is concatenated down from wikitravel on "Revision as of 17:14, 1 August 2009". The original description sounds like a high school English essay. This is problematic in that Dianchi is actually an ecological diaster. Its water is one of the worst out of any lake in China. To future editors, please do not import descriptions on Dianchi from Wikitravel. - Tigerleapgorge (talk) 20:09, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Changes at Camellia Hotel?

edit

The Camellia website has:

"Since our original occupied land has been designated for future development for "Shangrila Hotel" project. In accordance with governments request, Kunming Camellia Hotel has been moved to the new address(33th Huan Cheng Road) from the middle of July, 2012.

Our article still has the old address and a description of the facilities at the old location. Can someone update it? When I was there (2008?), rooms in the old building were considerably cheaper, a fine budget choice; is it now more expensive? Should the listing move to Mid-range or even Splurge? Does it still have a Laotian Airlines office? ...?

Is the Shangrila Hotel now open? If so, we should list it under Splurge. Pashley (talk) 16:30, 11 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Shangri-la site says Kunming hotel opens 2016. Pashley (talk) 16:33, 11 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
