Get in (by train/subway)

When I was in Kyoto, I reached Arashiyama by using the Tōzai subway line as far as Nijō Station, where I transferred to the JR Sagano Line - a logical choice for JR Pass holders. Based on recent transport maps, it looks like travellers can ride the Tōzai line all the way to the new terminus at Uzumasa Tenjingawa, from where it seems possible to transfer to the Keifuku Arashiyama line (NB: if the connexion exists, this could be a good option for non-JR Pass holders as this line's Arashiyama station seems better located than JR's). Since I haven't used the service myself (even though it was already operational during my stay in Kyoto), I can't say whether transfers at Uzumasa Tenjingawa are possible, so I left it out of the article. Banner

I created several banners and set the first one. I invite you to choose the most representative one, or submit another one.

The first one is Nonomiya Shrine, right? Of the above choices, I prefer the bamboo. It's probably the most famous part of Arashiyama, along with Togetsu-kyo Bridge and I like that it is both nondescript and representative of the area. ChubbyWimbus (talk) 03:21, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Exact, Nonomiya. Concerning the bamboo banner, my opinion is mixed about it. On one side it's nondescript and convey a feeling of the area. On another hand, it could be about any place where there is bamboo. - Fabimaru (talk) 19:28, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
