We subdivide Ladakh as follows

  • Kargil (region)
    • Kargil (town)
  • Leh (region)
    • Leh (town)
    • Shey (town)
  • Nubra (region)
    • Panamik (town)
    • Turtuk (town)
  • Zanskar (region)

It does not appear to be needed to have four subregions when only having a total of five towns. Further, Nubra is really part of Leh and Zanskar is part of Kargil. Therefore, I suggest to get rid of the subregion level as follows

  • Kargil (region) has no content and and can just be deleted (redirect)
  • Leh (region) has some good content that can be moved to the respective closest destination article (Leh (town), Shey or Nubra)
  • Nubra (region) changes status to an other destination
  • Zanskar (region) changes status to an other destination
  • Panamik (town) has very limited content which can be moved to Nubra
  • Turtuk (town) has some content, but this can also be moved to Nubra

That would imply an organization as follows

  • Kargil (town)
  • Leh (town)
  • Shey (town)
  • Nubra (other destination)
  • Zanskar (other destination)

Suggesting separate article for Kargil District edit

Presently the Kargil District Article redirects to the Ladakh article. I think both the Kargil District and the Leh District requires separate articles. I have already added two regions of Leh District and Kargil District in Ladakh. If I get the nod, I can proceed with the creation of Leh District and Kargil District articles. --Rangan Datta Wiki (talk) 04:10, 12 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I would tend to trust your judgment on this. How many city articles will be listed in each of these articles? Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:04, 12 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
About 10 - 12 --Rangan Datta Wiki (talk) 16:03, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
If you have enough travel-related content to create those two articles, go ahead. The dog2 (talk) 16:11, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I am creating districts due to the high amount of destinations in Ladakh. --Soumya-8974 (talk) 08:43, 22 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
