The "Eat" section needs to be fixed.

Rollback

edit

I rolled back the unexplained deletion of about 10 restaurants. --(WT-en) Evan 14:11, 1 October 2007 (EDT)

North Little Rock merge

edit

It seems that this article covers North Little Rock. If I don't hear a reason not to soon, I'll merge the latter into the former. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 14:59, 1 September 2008 (EDT)

Map base

edit

I'm not yet sure I'll do a map for this, but I did pick up a great free satellite base. So if someone wants to do a Little Rock map, ask me for the base. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 18:43, 1 September 2008 (EDT)

Eat needs sections

edit

Anyone with experience in LR able to help continue the region breakdown of restaurants (downtown, West LR already exist)? If not, I'm thinking of organizing the restaurants by budget or type of food. (Right now, there are region and budget categories which isn't uniform.)(WT-en) Zepppep 22:01, 13 November 2009 (EST)

I'm moving these here, since they don't exactly offer something for the traveller. (WT-en) Texugo 09:32, 20 March 2010 (EDT)

Districtfication

edit

Little Rock is a huge city of almost 200,000 - 300,000 if you include four neighboring independent cities - so I think this article is a worthy candidate for districtfication. (WT-en) Jonathan 784 13:11, 19 February 2011 (EST)

We have very different definitions of "huge city", you and I – Little Rock is currently the 119th largest city in the United States (barely edging out Moreno Valley), and we haven't even districted all of the top ten, including 1.4-million-strong San Antonio.
That said, the criteria for districtification is simply when the target article becomes too unwieldy as a single page, and I'm not sure Little Rock is there yet. Do is looking fairly full, but Buy and Drink are both virtually content-free, and Eat is in need of some serious overhaul, both to provide contact and address information for many restaurants that have none, and to prune out the generic chain restaurants that aren't of any real interest. The article would definitely benefit from a solid round of listification first. – (WT-en) D. Guillaime 17:01, 20 February 2011 (EST)
Little Rock should never be districtified, it's just too small for it. --(WT-en) globe-trotter 12:25, 24 February 2011 (EST)

Districtfication for Little Rock

edit

Moved here from the traveller's pub

edit

The article for the capital of Arkansas is incredibly long. Since Little Rock is such a huge city (about 200,000 in the city itself; over 300,000 if you include the neighboring independent cities of North Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood, and Jacksonville), I think this article is a worthy candidate for districtfication. (WT-en) Jonathan 784 13:06, 19 February 2011 (EST)

? According to this wordcount tool, the Little Rock article is only 7,000 words long (whereas, say, Milan is nearly 20,000 words.) It seems neither "incredibly long" or "a huge city" to me. Do you really think it's so unwieldy as is? If so, why? (WT-en) Rezendi 13:31, 19 February 2011 (EST)
Looks quite small and compact to me. Not nearly enough real information to justify didtrictification at this stage. Maybe a little heavy on listings, but that does not qualify it for breaking up. Also many listings are incomplete, but that is another issue. • • • (WT-en) Peter (Southwood) Talk 01:11, 23 February 2011 (EST)

It may need districtifying later, but based on the distrification within the article, it would end up with a decent "Downtown" article but a lot of small outline articles for the other districts. City size and population don't necessarily matter if there is enough to see/do, but right now, I just don't see any districts aside from the downtown with enough information to hold their own articles.
