Talk:One day in Bangkok
For the record, this itinerary was originally largely inspired by Stickman's Tour of Bangkok, although the careful reader will note that quite a few bits and pieces have changed. I've done this loop personally around 3 times and directed friends to it about as often, so it's about time I got it in written form! (WT-en) Jpatokal 06:02, 22 Sep 2004 (EDT)
- I note that there's no mention of "Chess". --(WT-en) Evan 06:46, 9 Feb 2005 (EST)
- Chess...? What am I missing? (WT-en) Jpatokal 07:35, 9 Feb 2005 (EST)
- A very dumb joke. The 1986 rock musical Chess featured a song "One Night In Bangkok" that was a minor pop hit. --(WT-en) Evan 10:19, 5 Dec 2005 (EST)
I tried going to the resturant (Baan Khanitha) mentioned but after wondering aimlessly, I have a assume the place no longer exist ... I believe the resturant has moved... see: [1] -- Noam 06 Dec, 2005
- That's a surprise -- the Ruamrudee location is the original, the one in Sukhumvit is the newer one. But thanks for noting this and saving others from the trouble, I've also amended the Bangkok/Sukhumvit page. (WT-en) Jpatokal 22:15, 5 Dec 2005 (EST)
The transliteration for pomelo salad shouldn't have an ending "m" - maybe "som-oh!" capture the right sound better for English speakers?
Grand Palace
editI think it's a bit strange the Grand Palace is skipped on this one.. shouldn't it be on any one day Bangkok itinerary? --(WT-en) globe-trotter 12:19, 25 January 2010 (EST)
Star?
editI'm off to Bangkok later in the year and I'm wondering what I can do to help make this article a star? I'd be glad to help out. (PS I'm new to contributing so apologies if I'm going about this the wrong way) (WT-en) thatbelinda 10 Feb 2010
- Welcome! This looks like a fairly thorough article -- revisions and improvements are always welcome, but comparing to other star itineraries, it could probably use a map to push it up to that status... not always easy to create. Please also feel free to edit the main Bangkok article, it's also inching up towards a star. - (WT-en) D. Guillaime 13:07, 10 February 2010 (EST)
Personal itinerary
editWe discourage them. How is this not exactly that? Hobbitschuster (talk) 22:16, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
- In practice, exceptions have been made for Guide-level articles of this type, though not for Usable articles, which I think is unfortunate, as we lost a pretty good itinerary article for Hong Kong as a result. Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:49, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
