Removed redrect

edit

For some context, I removed the redirect to the Nordic countries because in some countries, Scandinavia doesn't include Finland and Iceland (some news media outlets such as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation are firm on the meaning of Scandinavia). This page is just meant to let the reader choose which definition they want to use. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:19, 7 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I understand, and I changed it from extraregion to disambiguation (and rewrote the two short paragraphs). There is a lot to tell about Scandinavia proper, but anything travel related should go into Nordic countries. Usually we define our regions as they suit us, and don't bother much about others using the terms by other definitions – just making clear what we mean with them. We might as well have this page though, to remind travellers about the terminology. –LPfi (talk) 08:35, 7 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah it's definitely something that's confusing (and some get it mixed up with Finland and Iceland being part of Scandinavia and not the Nordic countries, but this seems to work) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:51, 7 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Return to "Scandinavia" page.
