[1] What do you think? We could wait a bit for User:Twinkle seongju to check their user talk page, but that sure looks like a bunch of incorrectly formatted copyvio. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but it certainly isn't properly formatted, at least. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:30, 19 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

It does look like an attempt to add a bunch of copied text to make an academic deadline at the last minute. @Hanyangprofessor2:? Because of machine translation, it is hard to to show that this is copyvio. Ground Zero (talk) 03:11, 19 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Ground Zero @Ikan Kekek It is possibly "one of mine". Possibly, because I do not have any student in the classroom who has yet disclosed this username (or Js1111korea which I see in the history) to me or registered this topic with me (I need to check my emails/messages from the last 24h; I just woke up and have 43 edits to my talk page to check, and I am leaving to each final class soon, sigh). There are some students who did not do anything the entire semester and woke up in the finals week... Anyway, rather than straight copyvio, I expect AI-generated content to be more likely. I am a bit concerned how to check for hallucinations given lack of references - for some listings, I require URLs to be used, but for much of the other stuff I am not sure what to do, given WV policies not requiring and actually discouraging footnotes. If any students ask me for feedback, I'll tell them to bring it up to standards, but we have about a week left, sigh. Hanyangprofessor2 (talk) 02:21, 20 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
No, not footnotes, but sources need to be mentioned in edit summaries, or failing that, the talk pages of articles. Ikan Kekek (talk) 02:29, 20 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Hanyangprofessor2: it sounds like we should just delete the article if is not cleaned up be the end of the year then. Ground Zero (talk) 11:34, 20 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Ground Zero Pretty much, I am afraid :( I still have not even identified the (presumed) students working on this Hanyangprofessor2 (talk) 14:13, 20 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
That said, this existed before the recent edits, reverting it back probably would be sufficient... Hanyangprofessor2 (talk) 14:13, 20 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. User:Ground Zero, why should we wait until the end of the year to make the reversions? I'd like to do them sooner, maybe tomorrow. Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:56, 20 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Reverting makes sense, when the class is finished, but I'm not clear when that is. I'm okay with reverting tomorrow. I see no reason to expect a clean-up in this aisle. Ground Zero (talk) 17:29, 20 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Done. Unfortunately, the article is in pathetic shape, but at least it's not further damaged by a lot of encyclopedic copyvio or AI-generated content. User:Twinkle seongju, if you would like to try again and edit this article within the Wikivoyage:Copyleft guidelines, and trying to follow the Wikivoyage:Goals and non-goals and Wikivoyage:Tone guidelines and Wikivoyage:Small city article template or Wikivoyage:Rural area article template (whichever is more appropriate) to the best of your ability, you are more than welcome to do so and it would be appreciated.
