Should Montreal be included on the map (and on the list of regions)? It also seems like Eastern Townships is missing from the map. I'm not sure how to fix it. WagtailJohn (talk) 21:37, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've added Montreal. it seems that Eastern Townships is not defined in Wikidata so the map won't display it. I don't know how to fix that.Ground Zero (talk) 19:11, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
If I'm remembering correctly, the mapshape is pulled from OpenStreetMap via Wikidata. "Eastern Townships" isn't a recognized political or administrative entity so I don't think it has a shape in OSM. I substituted Estrie (the administrative unit), which I believe covers a very similar area to the Eastern Townships, and it seems to be working now. -Shaundd (talk) 20:16, 21 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much. That works. And thank you for explaining it. It seems that before July 2021, Estrie was a different geographic area from the Eastern Townships/Cantons de l'Est, but Estrie's borders were changed then to be the same as the traditional Eastern Townships boundaries that we are using. Not sure if you can get away with drawing an Eastern Townships boundary on OSM, but it is somewhat time-consuming. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 23:01, 21 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
There is no need as Estrie = Eastern Townships now. Ground Zero (talk) 01:43, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Glad that fixed the mapshape issue. --SHB2000 (t | c | m) 02:04, 22 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
