• Dali District, (大里區): Provincial Expressway Number 74 and Provincial Highway Number 3 intersect here.

• Taiping District, (太平區): County Highways 129 and 136 intersect here.

• Wufeng District, (霧峰區): It is the southernmost District of Taichung.

• Wuri District, (烏日區): Taiwan High Speed Rail has a station here.

Greater Shanxian

• Fengyuan District, (豐原區)

• Dongshi District, (東勢區): The Central Cross-Island Highway starts here and goes east.

• Daya District, (大雅區)

• Heping District, (和平區): Being the only mountain indigenous district in the greater city, the Central Cross-Island Highway is not fully passable midway.
