Talk:Tombstone Territorial Park
Latest comment: 2 years ago by Pashley in topic Northern lights
From the map, it looks like this might be a fine place to view and photograph the lights. Is it? add a comment & link? Pashley (talk) 07:50, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
- Didn't think of that when writing this article, but good pickup. It wasn't on the park's website, but this blog suggests that it is visible, though I suppose this could be said with all of north-central Yukon. Ultimately, I'm not sure whether to include it or not. - Looking at the map at Northern_Lights#Understand it is right on the oval, the best area for viewing. Also, it is isolated enough that light pollution should not be an issue. So, at least sometimes, it should have fine displays.
- What I don't know is whether & when the weather is suitable. The blog mentions not seeing much due to cloud cover. Pashley (talk) 15:44, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
A lot of tourism in northern Canada is fishermen & hunters; should there be links in one or both directions between those articles & the park article?
Many of them (mostly well-off Americans) arrive by bush plane, landing on isolated lakes. Is there any of that in this park? If so, it might be added under "Get in". Pashley (talk) 08:00, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
