I am open to working on the formatting of the rides listing for both theme parks. Does anyone have any objections to using the style and format of Universal Studios for Islands of Adventure as the rides are added?Gtbiv (talk) 19:56, 16 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Merge proposal

edit

I'm not sure merging is the right move here. Universal Orlando has three resort hotels, two theme parks, and an entertainment district. It's the size of a small village at least, and probably meets our wiaa criteria. LtPowers (talk) 21:09, 14 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Had a go at merging, but not sure about results - it's now extremely unbalanced in terms of content. Any thoughts? Feel free to revert. --Nicholasjf21 (talk) 00:37, 18 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The intro is a mess of advertising superlatives, "world class", "action packed", "non-stop" that make this piece appear unduly promotional very quickly. The hotels belong in "sleep" instead of in the intro, a "climate" section in a destination-level article looks odd as climate is the same across the region and many of the lists of individual amusement park rides and characters go into a little more detail than necessary. I'm not sure what to do with this. K7L (talk) 01:00, 18 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposing a new project

edit

Being a resident of Orlando and a former cast member at Universal (I helped open Islands of Adventure in 1999), I think "merger" was going the wrong way, at least partially. The Universal Orlando portion of this site needs serious development. In addition, at the very least, USF and IOA need their own pages with development similar to the separate parks of Walt Disney World. CityWalk and the resorts can stay in the Universal Orlando page. —Kitch (talk) 15:00, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

I had to personally shepherd the five WDW park articles into existence; prior to that, there was a fairly significant sentiment that a single article was more than enough for the entirety of the resort complex. I proved that wrong, but to do so I had to actually create a park article and show how much content it would have. If you're willing to undertake the task, we'll help you out, but it has to be done right. Until then, add content to the main article, and it can be split out when ready.
