Minor change.

An excellent article so far with some good information many thanks to the original author. I made a small change to correct the fact that Captain James Cook was not the first Englishman to come to Australia. William Dampier was the first Englishman to arrive in Australia, he landed on the West Australian coast in 1699, Cook however was the first Englishman (and European) to explore the east coast. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) Grandy (talk • contribs)

You're right. For smaller edits like this, you can simply plunge forward without the need to notify at the talk pages at all, however. If there's a disagreement and the edit gets reverted back and forth, then it's of course time to use talk pages. – (WT-en) Vidimian 11:22, 17 September 2010 (EDT)

Splitting into per-island articles

It would be a bit of work, but Wikivoyage:What is an article? suggests that most islands ought to have their own article, meeting the "Can you sleep there?" test. (Many islands, although not all, have multiple accommodation providers, in fact.) It also removes the awkwardness of Hamilton Island, only, having its own article and listings. Thoughts? Lets not go out of our way to generate sparse content. Hamilton has a serious amount of additional content, with attractions, multiple accommodation providers, restaurants, take-aways, airport. I'm just saying lets build the content up, and when it no longer fits comfortably in an article, go from there. --Inas (talk) 07:00, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
