Talk:Wooster
Looking good. Glad someone else is working on this county's cities. :>
Congress?
editI added a See bullet for the village of Congress, 13 miles northwest, mainly because it was decided to make Congress (Ohio) a redirect to here. But there wasn't much to add, other than that Congress is scenic and has an "occasional Amish sighting." (But apparently no Amish businesses, and I am not sure it is polite to tell tourists to go somewhere just to look at people who look different.) And there are other towns closer to Wooster: New Pittsburg, Smithville, Riceland, Apple Creek (which does have Amish stores and restaurants, but could possibly be deleted as a WV destination, for failing WV:SLEEPTHERE). Should we add them to the See list, and/or delete Congress and the Congress (Ohio) redirect? Peter Chastain (talk) 06:27, 5 February 2016 (UTC)
- To answer your last question: No, we should not delete the redirect because someone looking for Congress, Ohio should be directed to the nearest town, which is Wooster. I think only a small edit is in order, saying that the area around Congress is scenic and that Congress is a partly Amish town. What potential visitors do with that information is up to them, but I do agree that the phrase "Amish sighting" objectifies people in a way that we shouldn't accept.
