Altitudes

edit

"...considerably higher than Britain's highest peak Ben Nevis or "mile high cities" like Denver or Lima." -But Lima is at sea level, I thought. Did you mean Cuzco or something? —The preceding comment was added by 206.125.82.195 (talkcontribs)

I took out the reference to Lima. Pashley (talk) 04:15, 1 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Cuzco is located about as high as Lhasa, almost 3500m. Those would be just over two mile high cities. ϒpsilon (talk) 04:58, 1 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Getting to Kunming

edit

The "Getting to Kunming" section currently has a bunch of text about travelling around in southern Yunnan that I do not think belongs in this itinerary. Perhaps in Southern Yunnan or Banana Pancake Trail, or even a new itinerary for Bangkok-Kunming or whatever, but there is currently what I think is too much detail for something that is off-topic in this article.

Other opinions? Pashley (talk)

The above comment is several years old & the text is still there. I'm still inclined to make some drastic cuts here, but am asking first. In particular, does anyone have a good suggestion for where it should be moved to? Pashley (talk) 18:25, 12 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Guide?

edit

What would be needed to get this to Guide status? If it were guide, & perhaps a bit longer, it make a good DotM candidate.

Or for a DotM in the area, would it be better to choose Dali, Lijiang, Tiger Leaping Gorge or Three Parallel Rivers National Park? Only Lijiang is currently at Guide status. Pashley (talk) 11:38, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
