are you there?

Hey there Creative, just wanted to say thanks for helping out on the Afghanistan pages. Are you there now, or recently? I just divided the country up into regions, and moved all of the provinces to the relevant pages, have a look at the new region pages to see if you can help add anything and expand them... stuff specific to the regions obviously, we don't want to duplicate things already on the main Afghanistan page, but for instance Northwest Afghanistan should have detailed info about crossing into Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, and have links and small descriptions of any relevant destinations in the provinces that it covers. If the destination isn't a city or doesn't need its own page for some reason then all of the info can go in the see section on the region page. Or if perhaps you traversed the Central Route from Herat to Kabul you can add the details of how to do that in the Itineraries section of West Afghanistan. Anyhoo, if you have time, keep helping! Afghan reverts

Hey there Creative, nice to see you back again  :)

I reverted some of the changes you made to Afghanistan... we don't use official names, but most common English names for places... Currently the Bamiyan article is parked at Bamiyan which I still agree is the most common spelling, and Konduz we've spelled with an "o", though I think Kunduz might be more common... see Talk:Konduz. Check out Project:Article naming conventions if you're interested in the how and why. If you think another spelling is more common, speak up on Talk:Bamiyan or Talk:Konduz and see if you can gain consensus to move the article, but the spelling of the cities throughout the various articles should be consistent with where the article is currently located, so until the articles are moved, please don't change the spellings elsewhere.

Also the figures in the quickbar are usually taken from the CIA factbook, that gives us a good reference point and avoids debates on percentages and names, etc, so I removed the "Other" breakdown altogether...

Hindu Kush

I agree, I almost deleted that the other day too, it seemed pointless and a little abrasive...
