Adding Pictures in an article edit

Hello, as you browse Wikivoyage, you will notice that almost all pictures are in boxes on the side...especially when it's at the top of an article (see Orlando, Chicago, Wilderness backpacking, & London just to show a few). There are a few different ways of doing this(I left off the double bracket on both sides to show you, otherwise the text would be a picture):

  • Image:Portstjohns.jpg|thumb|right (You can put "center" or "left" in place of "right", but most pictures are on the left)
  • Image:Portstjohns.jpg|thumb|right|250px (You can put put any number before px, but 200-300 is normal...this constricts the width of the picture by xxx pixels)
  • Image:Portstjohns.jpg|thumb|right|350px|Caption. (This is what's at right. The last section is the caption and can be whatever you choose)

Stick around and keep editing, we always appreciate new users! (WT-en) AHeneen 10:35, 5 December 2008 (EST)
