Citations

Since Wikivoyage is a travel guide and not an encylopedia, references are both unneeded and unwanted. Just plunge forward and make the text right. See also Project:Welcome, Wikipedians. Thanks! -- (WT-en) Colin 19:08, 23 September 2007 (EDT)

Nothing on that page says citations are unwanted, but they must be if you say they are. If another user keeps removing a true statement about a city how exactly do you prove that it is a fact without providing a citation? (WT-en) Jamesbrown 08:25, 24 September 2007 (EDT)

You discuss the issue on the Talk page until both parties agree. Incidentally, Project:Goals and non-goals says, and I quote, If you find yourself needing references and footnotes on Wikivoyage, whatever you're writing should probably go to Wikipedia instead. It's fine to cite a fact on the Talk page in a dispute. It just doesn't go in the article. If the other user is not participating in the talk page, use an html comment <!-- text --> in the article text to try to redirect him to the discussion. -- (WT-en) Colin 12:40, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
