Hello! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. You can also ask me for help anytime by visiting my Talk page and leaving a message. -- (WT-en) PerryPlanet Talk 00:36, 28 November 2008 (EST)
- I noticed you removed from listings from Ulaanbaatar -- is this because they're bad, or because they're gone? Adding an edit summary when you delete something would be helpful. (WT-en) Jpatokal 10:26, 27 January 2009 (EST)
- Indeed, unless it's closed, Chez at the very least deserve to be listed, I know it's overpriced, but being stuck in UB for days, I came to enjoy the brunch rather much. --(WT-en) Stefan (sertmann) Talk 07:34, 29 January 2009 (EST)
Karakorin and Kharakhorin Articles
editI notice you created Karakorin then Kharakhorin as two separate articles with very similar content. I assume these are the same place and suggest they be merged. Which of these names is the best English name, or is it Kharkorum or Xar Horin? Once we know that then the pages can be merged or the different names can all be redirected to just one article. - (WT-en) Huttite 06:10, 5 March 2009 (EST)
- Wikipedia suggests that a third alternative be used: Kharkorin. (WT-en) Texugo 06:21, 5 March 2009 (EST)
- depends on your purpose, Local Mongolians use "H", not X or Kh, when writing with latin characters. But many tourist companies and sites use "Kh".
Mongolian attractions
editI noticed that you created Bilge Khaan memorial and Xar Bulgas. These are both attraction which could easily be covered in the See or Get out section of Karakorin or a more general regional article covering the wider area or administrative region. To qualify as being significant enough for an article a destination normally should have an place that is being operated as a hotel, motel, hostel, short term rental apartment, serviced campground, cabin, lodge, backcountry hut or similar form of accommodation business. - (WT-en) Huttite 07:36, 5 March 2009 (EST)
- Thanks for your continuing edits to Mongolia. One style tip: please avoid saying "I" in articles, since Wikivoyage articles do not have a single author. (WT-en) Jpatokal 09:15, 24 April 2009 (EDT)
Signing comments
editOn Talk pages, please add ~~~~ to the end of your comments; this turns into a signature & date stamp, making it much easier to understand who said what and when.
And oh, it would be great if you could suggest a starting point for Mongolian on Project:Romanization. (WT-en) Jpatokal 03:15, 27 April 2009 (EDT)
External links
editHi - thanks for your additions to Idaho, but please take a look at Project:External links. Long lists of external links are usually removed from articles for the reasons outlined in that policy. If you have questions feel free to discuss at Project:External links! -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 11:59, 22 May 2009 (EDT)
