Welcome edit

Hello, Kbrophy! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Project:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

I've had to make changes on some of your Maryland links. First, we don't use "front-linked" links. Second, we're fairly specific with geographic location of listings -- BWI is fairly far from Baltimore, so we wouldn't list BWI hotels in Baltimore.

Thanks for your contributions! --(WT-en) Jonboy 16:51, 13 February 2009 (EST)

Touting, external links, again edit

Hello Keith, and thank you for creating an account as suggested. I would appreciate it, however, if you would heed the other suggestions. Since it appears those went unnoticed, I'll post them again:

In particular, see Project:Don't tout, as nearly all of your edits had promotional language that violates that policy. Also see Project:External links: 1) adding multiple links per listing is considered spamming; 2) any links that you add that do not contain "http://" will be broken, and will not direct users to the sites you are adding. I have reverted a good number of your edits, tried to clean up some others, and left those that weren't egregious violations of Wikivoyage policies.

Courtesy of Valentine's Day, I'm too busy to edit the touting contributions you made today, but I will bookmark them and remove them when I have time in the future. I would greatly appreciate it if you would read the aforementioned policies, and clean up your entries yourself, however. That would also go quite a way to create some confidence in your account. Lastly, please respond in some way to this comment; I am still suspicious that you are running a script. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 18:53, 13 February 2009 (EST)

Your edits are getting a lot better, thank you for taking the effort to heed the advice and bring your contributions more in line with Wikivoyage policies. One thing I would really appreciate, though, would be to sort your entries into the existing price categories. I suspect most of the hotels you add would be mid-range, but since you do not include price ranges, it's hard to know where they belong. Those price ranges are just generally very useful for travelers trying to figure out where to stay—personally, I ignore listings that don't show prices, since they're just not very useful. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 20:31, 3 March 2009 (EST)
